We are busy checking things out.
After we arrived in Nairobi, I was in and out of country for work. Then I left to fly to Ethiopia for two weeks. Upon my return from Ethiopia, we flew to South Africa. And from South Africa to Botswana to Namibia. Then we decided it would be fun to see a few more of the countries. So after three weeks on the road, we ended in New York.
Sherry and I were welcomed home to Singapore by the lovely Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick. What an amazing night. And then we flew from Singapore to Ethiopia. And then we decided to see even more of the world. So we flew to Istanbul, and then from Istanbul to Amsterdam and then from Amsterdam to Oslo, Norway. Then from Oslo to Glasgow in Scotland. From Glasgow to London, then Paris, then Barcelona, then Rome, then Madrid, back to London and then to Amsterdam. Then we flew from Amsterdam to Singapore and then home. So it’s been a fun and interesting year!
On the road I’ve had plenty of time to do the interviews for the blog and prepare for the wedding. But that’s been supplemented with walking around in the changing of the seasons in countries that I’ve never been before. Like the many new foods I’ve tried! Like Ethiopian beef stew and rice. Yes, rice! And I’m not a big rice eater! And this rice is just incredible. Spicy too.
During my first trip to Italy, I was fortunate enough to find some real authentically made pastas. And I made a special trip to buy a really great calzones recipe that I can’t wait to try.
There are lots of other differences too. Like the accents of the people. And the food!
